About the SureFire Workshop
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will host the 2nd International Smart Firefighting Workshop (SureFire 2024) on 9 July 2024 (Tuesday), following the 1st workshop at Tsinghua University in 2023. We extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us in Hong Kong for this engaging and informative one-day workshop.
The rise in fires in tall buildings globally highlights how the changing built environment has altered the fire threat. Smart Urban Resilience and Firefighting (SureFire), as part of the smart city blueprint, utilizes sophisticated data networks and AIoT technologies and achieves real-time monitoring and intelligent emergency response for fire hazards in complex urban environments. The development of a smart firefighting system will help develop future smart buildings and smart cities.

The One-day SureFire Workshop provides a comprehensive program focused on the development of smart firefighting systems. We have invited well-renowned professors and fire experts from both academia and industry, who will deliver insightful seminars. Students will have the opportunity to present their research during the workshop, facilitating discussions and potential collaborations on future research work. You could book any hotel in Kowloon or HK Island as you can easily take the MTR East Rail Line to go to Hung Hom Station.
