Hong Kong Student Chapter for the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) was found on December. 22, 2019. It is the first student chapter in China, and the third in Asia. The chapter is set to promote fire safety engineering amongst students by hosting workshops, lectures, and events targeted at university students in Hong Kong. The chapter won Golden Awards for Chapter Excellence from SFPE Board of Directors for contributing to the needs of their members and the Society in both 2021, 2022, and 2023. Ms. Yuxin Zhou
President
Ms. Yuxin Zhou is currently a PhD student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Nanjing Tech University in 2020 and 2023, respectively. Her research fields include Lithium-ion battery thermal runaway and its propagation disposal measures.
Mr. Weikang Xie
Vice President
Mr. Weikang XIE is currently a PhD student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from China University of Petroleum in 2018 and 2022, respectively. His research fields include Building fire safety and AIoT-powered smart firefighting.
Ms. Jinjin Wang
Treasurer
Ms. Wang Jinjin is currently a Research Assistant at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her master's degree from PolyU in 2023. Her research areas include structural fire resistance and 3D concrete printing.
Mr. Saizhe Ding
Secretary
Saizhe is currently a PhD student at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his master's degree from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2023. His research fields incoperate virtual reality and computer vision.
